It is easy to drive by car from the airports and there are nice roads all the way up to Vemdalen.

Vemdalen is about 480 km from Stockholm. Gothenburg is about 650 km away and Malmö is 900 km. Östersund is 110 km away and Sundsvall is 200 km.

Recommended route from Stockholm:

Take E4 to Gävle, then road 83 via Bollnäs, Ljusdal and Sveg  to Vemdalen. Or you can take the E4 to Hudiksvall, and from there road 83 to Ytterhogdal and Rätan to Vemdalen. If you are going to Björnrike it is slightly quicker to drive to Sveg from Ljusdal and then to Vemdalen.

Recommended route from Gothenburg:

Take Road 45 to Säffle via Sunne, Malung, Mora, Sveg and Vemdalen.
